Handmade, homemade, personal, quirky and custom. These are few words that come into mind when I think of Steff and Dan’s wedding. I had the pleasure of shooting this wedding in the lovely Hunter Valley wine region of NSW. This area is North West of Newcastle and the reception and bridals were shot around Brokenwood Vineyards and Cypress Lakes. Steff and Dan had custom table decor including plaster bunnies she molded herself, sliced tree trunks that were cut from her friends farm, all local Australian Bush flora in vintage glassware and hand stamped numbers and names. For every guest they had personalisied hand painted antique plates, and their custom made cake was complete with toppers of their pets Anarchy (their bunny) and Pirate (their one eyed dog). Steff even made the bridesmaids dresses and the boys bow-ties and suspenders. They also had the coolest vintage photo booth from Strip of a Lifetime and a never ending sparkler exit!
The most obvious thing on the day was the love, love and more love. Dan and groomsmen formed the band that serenaded Steff and played up a storm rocking the whole reception. With the perfect mix of traditional Chinese Tea Ceremony and a modern, funky, woodland themed Aussie bush wedding, this was definitely a wedding I wont forget for a while!
